I consider the plagiarism accusations against Claudine Gay to have been quite seriously overblown by the media. Apr 5, 2015 · Im a 3rd year student, I am soon to finish 3r year and go on my holidays. Plagiarism is expressly addressed in not only the syllabus, but also in the first unit of the course, including a presentation developed by the Writing Across the Curriculum Chair on plagiarism, and students took two short quizzes about plagiarism. Agreed. Imagine having to take even more loans out and even transfering for something you didn't do. Don't even explain that "the stress got to me," admit that you've wronged the university, promise it won't happen again, and ask what you can do to make it right. Has there really been a decline in standards over the years, or was the warning "universities take plagiarism very seriously and will expel you if you cheat" just a fairy tale told to chasten high school students.
